Video Production! Producing visually appealing video content is important, now more than ever.
Content is king they say, …and this is true! However, there are other important factors to consider, when it comes to ensuring your content is delivered.
Three very important factors:
- Communication – The overall vision of the project must be relayed and completely understood by everyone involved. This needs to be the case and insisted upon from project planning to post-production.
- Professional, reliable equipment is necessary to execute the vision. Our quoting team is excellent with production budgets. The sales team is experienced with video systems and the intricate role each piece of video equipment can play. This becomes very helpful in their knowing skillfully, where to cut corners, and subsequently relaying to the client what will be lost or gained when specific gear is either used on the project or eliminated from the project.
- Shooting and editing for the end platform. Simply put, a video created and edited for YouTube more than likely will need a re-edit if it also will be played and viewed at an Annual Conference in a hotel Grand Ballroom.
There are additional factors that need to be considered for each video production project. Some factors become more or less important depending on the style of video to be produced. A video produced to play at a live event, such as a non-profit’s Annual Auction Dinner, should tug at your heartstrings and be more focused on the client’s sponsorship revenue. On another hand, a video produced for digital signage in a shopping mall should be concise, eye-catching, and last between 10-20 seconds.
There are many types and styles of videos. Video production includes the production of TV, music videos, digital signage, live event videos, conference presentations, website videos, online videos, and more. All of the aforementioned video types share the same goal, catch and retain viewers. A great video does not just happen, that is to include viral videos as well. Great videos start way before pressing the record button. A great deal of work is put into the planning, from determining your target audience – to scouting the shoot location. The equipment required to shoot and produce a video is probably the most important. As a side note, the most underappreciated equipment is the lighting. I cannot stress enough how important it is to use correct, and sufficient lighting. When shooting video it is important to use front lighting, backlighting, overhead, and side lighting to illuminate your subject and eliminate shadows.
In today’s World, 4K is becoming standard. If you are planning on your final video ultimately being produced at 1080p, you should still shoot in 4k to provide post-production with zoom capability without degradation. At A.V. Rental Services, Inc. we mainly shoot with the BMD URSA 4.6K G2 camera.
